Uche Ignites Comfortable Crystal Palace Victory at Shelbourne.

Even though embarking on their maiden continental campaign, Crystal Palace are adapting at a rapid pace. Without star players like striker Jean-Philippe Mateta and defender Daniel Muñoz, the London club departed Dublin with a comfortable win that all but secures them a spot in the Conference League qualifying rounds.

Another victory in their upcoming match against Finland's KuPS ought to be sufficient to seal direct entry to the knockout stages, especially following a previous setback against Strasbourg.

Squad Members Seize the Moment

This match provided a chance for some of Palace's lesser-used talent to shine. Christantus Uche, in only his second beginning after joining on loan from Getafe, opened the scoring with a well-taken finish. Forward Eddie Nketiah contributed a second, scoring for the second consecutive match.

The contest was as good as over eight minutes from half-time. Yeremy Pino meandered past a series of comically weak challenges before coolly dispatching a shot past goalkeeper Wessel Speel to make it 3-0.

After the break, manager Oliver Glasner seized the opportunity to rest key individuals like Kamada and Wharton. Replacement Romain Esse almost scoring his first touch, but saw his shot blocked.

Esse was desperately unlucky later on, seeing one shot strike off each posts before being clasped on the line. Uche also blazed a sitter of a chance, indicating there is still scope for development in his game.

A solitary worry for Palace was a second-half knock to Justin Devenny, who limped off. This paved the way for 17-year-old forward Benji Casey to earn his first-team debut, rounding off an otherwise positive night for the traveling side.
