Everyone Are Invited to Become the Additional Haim Bandmate.
"When are you speaking to Haim?" an inquiry pops up. "My request was to ask if I can be their extra sister."
There is only one problem: I also desires to be the Haims' fourth member. And we're not alone. Several high-profile supporters have openly begged for the honor.
One thing is obvious an irresistible appeal is going on. Sisters Este, Danielle and Alana started their career performing shows at neighborhood delis with their family. Presently, they stand as repeated Grammy hopefuls.
Similar to the most iconic ensembles, they're a inseparable trio. Their music videos often depict them walking in sync down the roads of Los Angeles. On stage, they jam with such pure exuberance you can't help but think, "I want to be involved in that, too."
"How often on tour that audience members told us and said, 'Seeing you perform, I got a bass'," remarks Alana, the youngest of the sisters. "That's the biggest compliment. That's an award in itself. We've done our job if we can inspire others to form a group."

Grammy Milestone
The trio have called into their homes, where they're recovering after an lengthy tour in support of their latest album, I Quit.
They're currently celebrating the news it's been nominated for a top rock honor at the Grammys – with Haim the very first all-female band ever in contention for the prize.
"I watch the lists every year, so it kind of feels like an out-of-body experience when your name is read out," explains Alana. "I needed to phone my sisters to say, 'Am I hearing this correctly or am I dreaming'?"
The weight of the nomination resonates with the trio.
"We truly set out to make a guitar-driven album this time, so it's a major milestone," continues Alana. "However we're just grateful for the pioneers that came before us."
Personal Turmoil and Candor
The record emerged from a time of transition. All three sisters were single, and the music explores that strange liminal space where you're relieved to be free, but not entirely ready to start anew.
The themes track endings and goodbyes. The sisters seek love, but not the relationships they've experienced. You can hear them figuring out in the moment who they want to be.
"That's a perfect description, yes," says Danielle. "I Quit is kind of like a personal statement. You have to consciously practice shutting out the criticism and saying, 'I don't give what people think'."
Evolution of Music
That newfound toughness called for a new sound – more unpolished and immediate than anything the band had done before.
For Danielle, who worked on producing the album, that began with the drum sound.
"Percussion is such a nuanced thing, and I focus so intensely about it," she states.
"'Journey of the drum sound' will be the title of our memoir," quips Alana. "I've said it, our albums don't start until we find the ideal drum sound."
Anecdotes and Shared Humor
The band's candor inspired the album's marketing, where the sisters shared some of their personal misadventures.
Someone ended things with Este over a medical consideration. Alana shared a story of flying to spend New Year's Eve with someone, only to receive a high five at midnight.
"Experiencing these breakups, you just feel like there's no hope," explains Alana. "Therefore to be able to laugh at those stories and hear others tell you even crazier stories, it's therapeutic."
A Secure Legacy
It's not difficult sense a evolution in the band. Now, Haim are more certain of their standing in the music world.
They're festival headliners, with successful albums and an international following.
However the band will forever be their number one priority.
"We have been playing music since I was four," concludes Alana. "It's like no alternative that we were destined for. And I'm really thankful we've gotten here and we're still going strong."
