EU Officials Condemn US Action as ‘Coercion’
Officials from Europe such as the French president charged Washington of “bullying and threats”, after the visa restrictions targeted figures who have been central to efforts to enact legislation regulating US-based technology firms.
“For too long, ideologues in Europe have spearheaded organised efforts to pressure US companies to punish American viewpoints they oppose,” stated the US secretary of state online. “This government will no longer tolerate such actions of censorship beyond its borders.”
